20 injured in Losser farm cart crash, 4 taken to hospital

Twenty people were injured when an agricultural trailer overturned behind a tractor in the town of Losser in Overijssel. Four people had to be taken to hospital by ambulance and the others went to the hospital or to the general practitioner, according to the police.

Members of the KVV Losser football club stood on the cart to celebrate a championship party. The police did not release any information on the severity of the injuries. According to regional media, some people suffered broken bones.

The police are still investigating the circumstances of the accident. The incident happened on the Havezatensingel around 8:30 p.m.

Mayor Gerrit Jan Kok was shocked by the accident. He thanked the emergency services, including those in Germany. “We deeply sympathize with the injured, their families, club members and others involved,” he said. “Our first concern goes to the young people who experienced the accident. They are welcomed and taken care of where necessary.”

The football club confirmed late on Saturday evening on social media that “some members” had been injured. “Fortunately, we can report that most of the members are now in the canteen with us. Unfortunately, a few members also went to the hospital and are being well cared for. We sympathize with them and their families and wish them a speedy recovery! “
