Golf cart drivers must learn to follow the rules | Daily Editorial

One of the newest but no less spectacular Golden Isles traditions is the annual Golf Cart Parade that takes place on St. Simons Island every Fourth of July.

People adorn their golf carts with their finest patriotic decorations, line up at Mallery Park and drive through the Pier Village and back while throwing candy and other treats at people lining the streets. There were so many carts participating in this year’s event that the carts wound up in the streets surrounding the park.
