“Golf Cart Gurus” hosted a citywide run through Sanford to help service members

SANFORD, Florida. — Golf Cart Gurus, a company that, as its name suggests, sells golf carts and parts, is hosting a citywide run to Sanford on May 29 to benefit the U.S. military.

The “2nd Amazing Race”, as the group calls it, will see teams of two to four people compete at various Sanford businesses, starting at Celery City Craft Beer Garden and ending at George’s Tavern.

The contest will run from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Café

  • Retrospectives

  • Torch One Cigar Bar

  • The Pelvis

  • Wop’s Hops Brewing Co. and Kitchen

  • 1st Street Lounge

  • The courtyard

  • Dees Brothers Brewery

Depending on the company, participants can participate with golf carts, bicycles, motorcycles or even on foot. The company said there will be a trophy and prizes for the winners of 1st place, best challenge and the trolley costume contest, among others.

Golf cart gurus have said there will be no food or alcohol challenges in the competition.

Tickets start at $15 per person for early bird registration and $20 per person starting May 25. The group is also asking for $40 donations from each team.

Proceeds will go to Just Our Soldiers’ Helpers, a non-profit group that prepares care packages for deployed troops.
