“Sukhmani has been suffering from stomach pain and vomiting since last Friday. The main road here was blocked due to the overflow of the Bhaji River. So I had to take him in an ox cart through the river, with my brother and sister. If the current had been stronger, we could all have drowned,” Danve said.
He said they were able to reach the hospital after much difficulty. However, the ordeal continued as Sukhmati is still quite ill and is receiving glucose through an intravenous drip.
“After crossing the river somehow, the hospital was about a mile up the road. Initially, we admitted her to Chicholi hospital, where she was given 3 bottles of glucose. But, on the same Friday evening, we were referred to the district hospital. Here too, he was given about 20 bottles, still, there is no improvement,” Danve said. (ANI)
