Set the record straight on villagers for Trump golf cart rally

For the editor:

The headline of the article referring to the purpose and intent of the Villagers For Trump Golf Cart Rally was complete misinformation for readers. There was never any motivation or intent for our golf cart rally to be tied to supporting the January 6, 2021 event at the Capitol. The purpose was ONLY to draw voters’ attention to BE SURE TO VOTE.
Also, the last qualifying date to register for new residents or change their party status happens to be the next day, Monday, July 25, so that might help people stop and remember to do so if necessary.
The theme for the Golf Cart Rally has been regularly announced to our members and also previously reported in your post weeks ago is “Be Sure to Vote”. However, from the start of setting a date for the rally, it could not be scheduled for the Sunday just before the early voting on August 13-20 because some key people were unavailable to participate, and on Sunday July 24 was the next closest date that could be accommodated.
We invite all Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents who may have re-registered as Republicans, to VOTE IN THE PRIMARY where several races will be decided and will not appear on the November ballot: School Board and Unopposed Republicans.
We also invite Republicans and new Republican supporters to join us this Sunday at 3 p.m. to congregate at the Creekside Medical Center parking lot on Old Mill Run (across from the Barnes & Noble parking lot), leaving at 4 p.m. from Lakeside Landings to Brownwood Square. Decorate the wagons in red, white and blue. Signs, flags and bottled water will be available for donations and there will be music and a brief program before the start. A drone will be filming this event and will be on YouTube where friends and family from out of town can see your patriots gathering around the villages.
We rely on and appreciate your truthfulness, and thank you for your service to our community.
