Three people have been arrested and an FIR has been registered against around 30 individuals after an alleged shooting incident was reported in the Ambernath region of Maharashtra following a clash between two groups during an ox-cart race, police said.

Officers said the incident took place in the MIDC area of ​​Ambernath on Sunday. “More than 15 bullets were fired, but no one was injured,” an official said. Video of the incident has been released widely and police teams are trying to identify suspects using it.

Police say an ox cart race was staged in a local village early on Sunday in which a fight broke out between two rival groups. “And since the fight didn’t stop there, they fired a few bullets,” an official added.

A senior police official said three of the suspects had been arrested, but did not identify them. “We are trying to identify the remaining people and they will soon be arrested,” the official said, adding, “We are also checking whether the weapons used to shoot were licensed or purchased illegally.”
