Early Friday morning, May 6, Pasco police say a loss prevention officer foiled a potential shoplifter, who attempted to sneak in with at least $465 worth of groceries and merchandise.

Officers said the man was captured on CCTV, after loading his cart he walked to the front of the store, carefully avoiding the checkout lines.

He was seen ‘patiently’ waiting for the moment he thought the lane was clear, then tried to push the heavily laden cart into the parking lot.

However, the man was confronted by store security.

The man was arrested by what PPD called asset protection, some call them loss prevention or store security monitors. Either way, the man abandoned the cart in the exit hall and ran towards the van pictured in our story, then fled. At that time, the security guard called the police.

He was able to leave the field just before the arrival of the agents. Anyone who may have information on this man, who in one of the images appears to be running like Bambi, please call (509)-628-0333. All leads can be confidential.
